Episode 14: Success, Gratitude and Family – A Conversation with a Super Bowl Champion

Lionel Dalton beat the odds. He grew up in a tough neighborhood and somehow found his way to the NFL. Undrafted, he played in the league for nine seasons and won a Super Bowl. This father of four joins us to talk about mindset, gratitude and family.

About the author, James

Thank you for joining me for the Positively Dad journey! My name is James Shaw and I'm a husband and father. I live in the Tampa Bay area with my wife, Terri and our young daughter, Naomi. The goal with Positively Dad for us to think, learn and grow. It's easy to get caught up in the day to day and miss opportunities to become amazing fathers. I trust that the conversations we have on Positively Dad will help you see that fatherhood is truly a journey and that we are better together than figuring it all out on our own.

I can relate to this in more ways than I can count. I constantly compare my childhood with approaching my grown daughters and Grandchildren. Our children are our legacy. So being the best possible father is a priority. My father and grandfather were tough on us installing a strong work ethic to always give your personal best in everything you set out to accomplish. I’ve past this on. I’m proud of my daughters accredited accomplishment. I just hope they are happy.
